1. Who We Are

Neighbrr LLC is a New Jersey limited liability company that operates the Neighbrr platform — a neighborhood contractor verification service. The Neighbrr Platform refers collectively to all Neighbrr digital properties, websites, web applications, mobile experiences, and related pages, including but not limited to Neighbrr.co (our landing page and informational website) and Neighbrr.app (our web application and user platform), as well as any subdomains, future domains, or digital properties operated by Neighbrr LLC. When this Privacy Policy says "Neighbrr," "we," "us," or "our" — it means Neighbrr LLC.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from you when you use any part of the Neighbrr Platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your own information. It applies to all users — homeowners, contractors, and anyone who visits Neighbrr.co or Neighbrr.app.

This Privacy Policy replaces all previous versions including the policy originally published for our email waitlist. The platform has expanded significantly and this updated policy reflects the full scope of what Neighbrr collects and does across all Neighbrr properties.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect different information depending on whether you are a homeowner, a contractor, or just visiting our website.

Information you give us directly:

Email address — collected when you join the waitlist on Neighbrr.co or create an account on Neighbrr.app
Full name — collected when you create a homeowner or contractor account
Phone number — collected at account creation for SMS verification and platform notifications
Home address — collected from homeowners to place you on the neighborhood map and verify your location
Business name, address, and contact information — collected from contractors for their public profile
License number — optionally provided by contractors for verification purposes
Pin and review content — information you enter when dropping a pin for a contractor, including the trade, date, and any written review
Payment information — collected from contractors at subscription signup. We do not store your full card number — this is handled entirely by Stripe

Information we collect automatically:

Device information — the type of device and browser you use to access Neighbrr
IP address — your internet connection address, which may indicate your general location
Usage data — how you interact with the platform, which pages you visit, what you tap or click
Location data — your device's precise GPS coordinates, requested only when you open the Map page on Neighbrr.app. We use this solely to center the neighborhood map on your area. We do not store your GPS coordinates in our database at any point. We do not attach location to your user account. We do not share your precise location with other users or contractors. We do not access your location in the background or when the app is closed. If you deny location access the app still works — the map simply defaults to the New Jersey area and you can scroll or search to find your neighborhood manually

Information from third parties:

Address verification data — when you enter your address, Google Maps confirms it is a real address
Payment processing data — Stripe provides us with confirmation that a payment was processed and basic billing information

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account — verify your identity, send you login and verification codes, and keep your account secure
Run the Neighbrr platform — display the neighborhood map, show pins, enable contractors to confirm jobs, and connect homeowners with verified contractors
Verify contractor jobs — when a homeowner pins a contractor, we use the homeowner's name and address to send the contractor a confirmation request. This is the core function of Neighbrr
Send SMS notifications — verification codes, job confirmation requests, Neighbor Request notifications, and other platform updates
Process payments — charge contractor subscription fees through Stripe
Improve the platform — understand how people use Neighbrr so we can make it better
Communicate with you — respond to your questions, send important account updates, and notify you of changes to our terms or policies
Comply with the law — meet our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from government authorities

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to serve you third-party advertisements. Neighbrr does not have an advertising business model.

This is the most important section for most Neighbrr users to read. Here is exactly who we share your information with and why.

The most important thing to understand: When a homeowner drops a pin for a contractor, Neighbrr sends that contractor the homeowner's name and street address to verify the job. This happens regardless of the homeowner's public privacy settings on the map. Privacy settings only control what your neighbors see publicly — not what we share with contractors for verification.

We share information with:

Contractors — for job verification only. When you pin a contractor, we share your name and street address with that contractor so they can confirm the job occurred. This information is used only for verification — it is not shared with the contractor for marketing purposes and is not given to other contractors.
Other Neighbrr users — based on your privacy settings. Your public map display is controlled by your privacy toggles. If your name toggle is off, other homeowners see "A Verified Member" instead of your name. If your address toggle is off, only your general neighborhood area is shown — not your exact street.
Our service providers — to operate the platform. We share data with companies that help us run Neighbrr, including Twilio (SMS), SendGrid (email), Google Maps (address verification), and Stripe (payments). These companies are only allowed to use your data to provide services to Neighbrr — not for their own purposes.
Law enforcement or legal process. We may share information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Neighbrr, our users, or the public.
A new owner if Neighbrr is sold. If Neighbrr LLC is acquired by or merges with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owner. We will notify you before that happens and you will have the opportunity to delete your account.

What we never do: We never sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. We never share your home address publicly on the map without your permission. We never share your payment information beyond what Stripe needs to process your subscription.

5. SMS Text Messages

Neighbrr uses SMS text messages as a core part of how the platform works. This section explains exactly what you are agreeing to when you provide your phone number.

By providing your phone number and creating a Neighbrr account, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from Neighbrr LLC. These messages may include:

Verification codes — a one-time code sent when you first create your account to confirm your phone number is real
Job confirmation requests — if a homeowner pins you as a contractor, we text you a link to confirm that job
Neighbor Request notifications — if a neighbor is looking for a contractor in your area and you have relevant pins
Platform notifications — other important updates about your account or activity on your street

Message frequency: The number of messages you receive depends on activity in your neighborhood. During active periods you may receive multiple messages per day. During quiet periods you may receive very few.

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates apply to any SMS messages you receive from Neighbrr. Neighbrr does not charge you for SMS messages — but your carrier might.

How to stop receiving messages: Reply STOP to any SMS message from Neighbrr at any time. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further SMS from us. Please note that opting out of SMS may affect features that require text verification.

Neighbrr sends SMS messages through Twilio. Message delivery is subject to Twilio's network and your mobile carrier. Neighbrr is not responsible for SMS delivery failures caused by network issues.

6. Third Party Services We Use

Neighbrr relies on several third-party companies to operate. Each of them has their own privacy practices. Here is what each one does and what information they receive:

7. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. These steps include:

HTTPS encryption on all pages of the Neighbrr Platform
Encrypted payment processing through Stripe — we never store your full card number
Access controls — only authorized personnel can access user data
SMS verification to confirm phone numbers are real and belong to the person creating the account

No security system is perfect and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law including New Jersey data breach notification requirements.

8. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after you close your account. Specifically:

Account information — kept for as long as your account is open, plus up to 2 years after closure for legal and record-keeping purposes
Pin and review content — when you close your account, the pins you dropped are anonymized — your name is replaced with "A Verified Member" — and remain on the platform to preserve the integrity of contractor profiles. If you want your pins permanently and completely deleted, you must request this specifically when you contact us to close your account. We will honor that request within 30 days
Payment records — kept for 7 years as required by tax and financial regulations
SMS opt-out records — kept indefinitely to ensure we honor your opt-out preference
Waitlist emails — collected on Neighbrr.co and kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion

If you want to delete your account and all associated data, email hello@neighbrr.app. We will process your request within 30 days.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights over your personal information:

Right to access — you can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@neighbrr.app
Right to correct — you can update your name, email, phone number, and address in your account settings at any time
Right to delete — you can request deletion of your account and personal information by emailing hello@neighbrr.app. Note that some information may be retained as described in Section 8
Right to opt out of SMS — reply STOP to any SMS message from Neighbrr at any time
Right to control your public profile — use the privacy toggles in your account to control what neighbors see on the public map
Right to close your account — email hello@neighbrr.app at any time to close your account

We will respond to all privacy requests within 30 days. We do not charge a fee for these requests. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Important note about pin deletion: If you delete your account, the pins you dropped may remain on the platform in anonymized form — shown as "A Verified Member" rather than your name — to preserve the integrity of contractor profiles. If you want your pins removed entirely, request this specifically when you contact us.

10. Children's Privacy

Neighbrr is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child under 18 has created a Neighbrr account, please contact us at hello@neighbrr.app and we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

11. California Residents — CCPA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights regarding your personal information.

Categories of information we collect: identifiers (name, email, phone, address), commercial information (subscription history), internet activity (usage data), and geolocation data (precise GPS used only to center the map — never stored in our database).

We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your CCPA rights include:

The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
The right to delete personal information we have collected from you
The right to opt out of the sale of personal information — though we do not sell data
The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

Neighbrr is currently operating primarily in New Jersey. We extend these rights in good faith to all users regardless of state. To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at hello@neighbrr.app. We will respond within 45 days as required by the CCPA.

12. Changes to This Policy

As Neighbrr grows — adding new features, expanding to new states, and working with new third-party services — this Privacy Policy will need to be updated. We will notify you of material changes by:

Sending an email to the address on your account
Displaying a notice in the Neighbrr platform
Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page

Your continued use of Neighbrr after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you may close your account by emailing hello@neighbrr.app.

We will always keep the current version of this policy at neighbrr.app/privacy and neighbrr.co/privacy.
